Greetings from Clinic Director

Our clinic opened on 15 October 2024.

I, Dr. Yuta Morimoto, clinic director, have been working as a general, digestive and hepatobiliary surgeon for 18 years, and through more than 3000 operations with general or spinal anesthesia (about 2000 as an operator, about 1000 as an assistant or a teaching assistant), uncountable number of small operations with local anesthesia, more than 1000 chemotherapy and uncountable hospitalization of patient without operation.

You all might think that the surgeons almost work in an operation room, but actually, especially in Japan, surgeons do all :- pre-operative examinations, evaluations and treatment of comorbidities (disease of internal medicine with the patient), see the picture of patient’s and family’s circumstance, pre-operative information, pre-operative nutrition, pre-operative chemotherapy, perioperative control, follow up of the post-operative patients in outpatient, adjuvant chemotherapy, chemotherapy for recurrence, palliative care and et cetera.

What made me decide to open the clinic is the thought “I want to provide systemic, holistic and comprehensive medication in point of non-sorting internal medicine and surgery”.

Aim of the clinic is not only to treat the disease but also to face each patient sincerely, being helpful as a person, as a good neighbour and as a primary doctor providing quality health care.

Medical fees for patients at the age of 0 to 3rd grade of high school those who live (resident enrollment) in Niigata city are subsidized by Children Medical Fees Subsidy System

(See website:https://www.city.niigata.lg.jp/kosodate/ninshin/shien/kenko_iryo/kodomoiryo/kodomoiryou.html).

No English website is available. For more information, please contact the city office.

(ii) If you are not insured by Japanese health insurance

Our medical fees are based on the determined medical fees rewarding system in case of insured patients, which is based on the Health Insurance Act of Japan.

In case of non-insured patient’s health care, however, it is not subject to the determined medical fees rewarding system and is completely left to each director’s discretion.

At this clinic, therefore, we set the fees 1.5x to 2.0x of the health-insurance-act-determined fees and the full amount of the bill must be paid. The same payment methods as (i) above apply.

If you have travel and/or other insurance, please consult the insurer for the coverage by yourself.

*In Japan, pharmacy and clinic or hospital are separate. So, you need to pay for your medicines separately at a pharmacy.

*Prescription should be limited to 30 days or shorter for non-insured patients.
*Not all of our staffs are good English speaker.
